Hilarious Stuff for those Post-Thanksgiving Blues

I've added a new link under the Fun Places to Waste Time section over there on the right...

But in honor of Casino Royale, which I plan to go see this weekend, a little sample.

Not the funniest one by far, but...

  1. thanks for the comments on my blog (the soapy post)...your blog is
delightful! i look forward to reading more of it.

what did you think of casino royale? i love daniel craig as 007, but the movie lagged in parts for me. still, i loved the opening chase scene - it was refreshing to see something that could still be exciting, without a cavalcade of explosions....

  2. It was great for the most part. There were a few Hollywoodisms that I choked on (such as the fact an airport fuel truck wouldn't roll as it's careening all over a runway, but a high-end sports car would flip when you make a hard turn).

And I kept wondering how long the movie was going to be. They snuck a gotcha on me at the very end, there...I figured it was going to go on for another 15 minutes.

They stuck to the Bond "scripts" where they needed to (first Bond girl dies, any woman who agrees to run away with Bond dies, etc.)...

You're not the first person I'd talked to that's made a comment about the lack of excessive explosions being refreshing.

Daniel Craig is definitely one of the better Bonds. It's still hard for me to put him above Connery.

    Thanks for visiting...

  3. p.s.. the new link under fun places to waste time was hilarious - i have five cats (-and no, it was not my burning ambition to become the local cat lady, it just sort-of worked out that way recently)...i'd love to share that link with my friends on my blog, if you wouldn't mind - i'd give you credit, of course. would that be okay?

  4. It wasn't my link to begin with, actually (I found it through a writer's site I frequent)...so feel free to spread the joy.

  5. I'm looking forward to the new bond movie, although he doesn't really appeal to me the way Connery did. Still should be fun...
