Waxing Nostalgic

Being as old as I am, there were a number of things I grew up with that I'd like to have once again. Some of those things happen to be computer games.

Sundog was one of the best games I ever played (on the Apple IIe) growing up. And now, it seems like the original developer may be trying to bring it back.

If I was a betting man, I'd say that Sundog probably had at least a small contribution toward the creation of Aston West. If I had any programming knowledge (that was worth something to modern computer games), I'd be all over this new project.

Of course, then I'd NEVER get any writing done toward the next Aston West novel.

  1. hmmm..i don't remember sundog, or appleIIe...but i was about 20 at that time...how about you? i do remember atari, though, and pong..while i'm reasonably well coordinated at lots of things, i am disturbed to report that pong was not really one of them...!

  2. addendum...of course, i realize that atari was ancient history by the time sundog came out...

  3. If memory serves, we received a copy of Sundog sometime in the mid-to-late-80s (after it had been out a while). I think I may have been anywhere from 10-12 at the time, but memories are quick to fade.

We had friends with Ataris, and friends with Nintendos.

Our own game console (a gift from the same people who gave us Sundog) was a Bally Astrocade.
